Inspired by the stunning ceramic tiles of the Alhambra Palace in Spain, King Manuel I of Portugal ordered similar decorative tiles—known as “azulejos”—to adorn his own palace. In Azul, players carefully draft colorful tiles and place them on their personal boards to create intricate patterns and score points.

Every decision matters. Choose tiles wisely, build efficient patterns, and complete beautiful designs to earn the most points. But be careful—wasting tiles will cost you valuable points and could hand victory to your opponents.
